Steph tried to convince me that I should start a blog before Colten arrived, but I thought I would have all the time in the world once I was home all day with him. Boy was I WRONG! So many of you have emailed me asking about Colten and I have yet to respond to one of those emails. Instead I am finally getting on the blogging bandwagon (even though it has taken me three days just to set it up). Since our only computer is in the basement, I don't have much of a chance to use it and will not be blogging as regularly as I would like. I'm hoping for once a week : > All that aside, here are some updates about Colten.
He was 8.8 lbs and 22 inches at birth. Now at 2 months, he is 13.4 lbs and 24 3/4 inches. Needless to say, he eats sooo much. And while I'm commited to breastfeeding, I now understand why women choose not to or decide to quit. It is one of the most demanding things I have ever done - but sooo worth it too. Colten got his first round of shots about 2 weeks ago. I was so proud of him. Of course he cried, but he still did such a good job. In some ways it may have been harder on me : >
The hardest part is that Colten is very colicky. He cries so much of the day and still has yet to sleep in his crib. My bed is now the recliner in the living room; we sleep belly to belly, and while he sleeps very well, I can't say the same for me. However, some sleep is better than none (which is what I was getting before relocating to the recliner). Colten is starting to cry now, so I'll end here for now with a few pictures. And thanks to everyone for your emails. Sorry I haven't responded.
Our first family photo immediately following Colten's birth on March 14th.
This is how I best know Colten! (about 3 weeks old)
Colten on May 24th at Aunt Amanda and Uncle Marc's Memorial Day picnic.

Yay, I'm the first to leave a comment:) Cindy, he is just adorable:) I am so happy for you guys and I cannot believe he's over 2 months old already?? Good luck with nursing and sleeping- keep up the awesome work at breastfeeding! It'll get easier;) Each time I was ready to give up breastfeeding Elizabeth, I would keep at it a few more days and before I knew it, she was 11 months old (although she was on formula then too). Then I quit;)
ReplyDeleteI am so excited you are blogging and can't wait to see little Colten grow on here:) Thanks for the pictures!
